Let me sit with you for a moment, I want to talk to you the way I talk to the women who come into my center, softly, honestly, and from the heart. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned after all these years of working with beauty, health, and healing, it’s this: Your body whispers before it ever cries out. And most of us… we miss the whispers. We rush, push, and ignore. We say, “I’m fine,” and tell ourselves we’ll deal with it later. But the body? Your body. The body God handcrafted for you doesn’t want to fight you. It wants to talk to you. And those whispers? They show up first in your skin. Let me walk you through what I mean.
“Eydie, my skin is so dry lately…”
Ah, dryness. I hear this one every day. And I always smile gently and ask, “Are you dry? Not just your skin, but you?”
Because dryness is often a sign that:
- you’re tired
- you’re stressed
- you haven’t been drinking enough
- your sleep is light and interrupted
- your nervous system is overworking
Dry skin is rarely just about moisturizer. It’s your body saying, “Pour into yourself the way you pour into others.”
“Why am I suddenly red and reactive?”
Redness is like the body waving a little flag saying, “Too much… too fast… too strong.” Sometimes it’s a product, the detergent on your pillowcase, digestion, or your emotions; heat rising to the surface.
I always tell women, “Your skin isn’t angry. It’s overwhelmed.” Gentleness is your medicine here.
“These breakouts are driving me crazy…”
Oh, breakouts. They’re not a betrayal; they’re a release. Your skin is pushing something up and out because it can’t carry it inside anymore, like stress, hormones, foods that don’t agree with you, old emotions, or simply detox pathways asking for support.
When women come to me frustrated, I place my hand over theirs and say, “Don’t fight it. Let’s support it.” Because the body never makes mistakes, it makes moves toward balance.
“Why is my skin so sensitive all of a sudden?”
When someone tells me their skin is burning, stinging, or reacting, I almost always ask: How long have you been burning or stinging on the inside?”
Sensitivity often shows up when:
- you’ve been pushed too hard
- life has demanded too much
- your boundaries have worn thin
- your hormones are shifting
- your nervous system is tired
Your skin becomes tender because you are tender. It’s not weakness, it’s an invitation.
“My skin looks so dull lately…”
Whenever I hear this, I tilt my head gently and ask, “When was the last time you felt lit up?”
Because dull skin often means:
- exhaustion
- sadness
- emotional heaviness
- a lack of fresh air
- not enough hydration or prayer or peace
Your skin mirrors your inner light. When your spirit dims, your glow follows. But the light always returns, always.
“Why am I so puffy in the morning?”
Puffiness is often a little water balloon of emotions.
It can mean:
- you didn’t sleep deeply
- you cried
- you’re retaining stress
- your lymphatic flow slowed down
- your body is holding more than it can process
And I always say, “Let’s help your body move gently again.”
A warm cloth… A soft massage… A prayerful breath… Your body loves to be guided back into flow.
What I’m trying to say is, your skin is not a problem. It’s a conversation. A dialogue between your inner world and your outer expression. When you stop blaming it… and start listening… everything changes.
This is why my approach at the spa, in ministry, and in life, is always:
- Gentle
- Clean
- Natural
- Spirit-led
- Patient
- Kind
Your skin doesn’t want perfection. It wants peace. And if you ever want help understanding the messages, finding clean products, or building a routine that calms both skin and spirit, I’m here for you.
Your body speaks with love. Today, let’s listen together.
With grace, gentleness, and a hand over my heart,
— Eydie Claassen
